The Chicago Police Department has issued a missing person alert for 42-year-old Andrej Jelic, who was last in contact with someone on July 21, 2025. The alert, released on the official Chicago Police Department website, describes Jelic as a white male with brown eyes and brown hair, standing 5’10” and weighing 145 pounds. Jelic has been reported to suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, is developmentally disabled, and has a speech impediment. He requires medication, which he currently does not have with him.
Authorities have informed that Jelic is known to frequently use public transportation, including buses and trains. There was a reported sighting of Jelic in the Tinley Park area, but this has yet to be confirmed. Jelic is distinctively dressed in bright neon green gym shoes and also wears glasses. Citizens are advised to keep an eye out for him and are encouraged by the police to immediately report any potential sightings.
The Chicago Police emphasize the urgency of locating Jelic, citing his health conditions and the need for his medication as critical factors for his well-being. In their call to the public, they specify Jelic's vulnerability due to his mental health conditions, which might further complicate his state if left unattended. His last known location was in the area of 61st and Kenneth Ave in Chicago.
