Winds are coming from the south at 18 MPH, and the barometer reads 29.92 in, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Prospects for precipitation are slim today, with a 10 percent chance forecast for showers and lightning later in the afternoon. Under mostly sunny skies, South Lake City should see a high near 94°F. The evening is much of the same, with partly cloudy skies and continued low chances of rain before 9 PM. A south-southeast wind will blow gently at 9 to 13 mph, cooling down to around 71°F.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the weather should hold steady, mostly sunny with a high near 92°F. Winds will be light, starting south-southeast at around 9 mph, then shifting to southwest in the afternoon. By nightfall, the skies will remain mostly clear with a west-northwest wind at about 6 mph, calming to a light and variable breeze, and temperatures dropping to the vicinity of 67°F.
Midweek brings no significant changes, with the NWS predicting sunny weather on Wednesday and a high again hovering close to 92°F. A southeast wind will greet the morning at 5 to 7 mph, before taking a turn to the west later in the day. The evening promises to be mostly clear with the temperature dipping only slightly to around 66°F.
The rest of the week through to Sunday is slated to follow the same pleasant pattern, with consistent highs in the low to mid-90s and minimal cloud cover at night. If showering before 9 pm on Tuesday, residents might catch a glimpse of that 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. The weekend ahead looks to bring more sunny skies with temperatures reaching a high near 95°F both Saturday and Sunday, and only partly cloudy at night with lows hovering around the upper 60s.
