The Colma Police Department shared an update on a wallet theft case that led to an unauthorized purchase of an iPad worth $1,370.11. The incident, part of the department's Flashback Felony Friday series, occurred at the Target on 5001 Junipero Serra Boulevard, per a social media post from the Colma Police Department.
Dispatched to the retail outlet last August, Colma Officers were met with a troubling scene. A shopper reported a stolen wallet and subsequent illegal credit card transactions at a nearby Best Buy, located at 200 Colma Boulevard. The police learned from the victim that the thief had successfully bought an iPad with one of the stolen credit cards, walking away with technology not his to claim.
Investigations led officers to obtain security footage from Best Buy, which captured the image of the suspect. Described in the post by the Colma Police Department as a Hispanic male clad in a black Nike t-shirt and a baseball hat, he remains at large.
The Colma Police Department Detective Bureau urges anyone with information or who can identify the suspect to step forward. Community members can contact the bureau at (650) 997-8321, and an anonymous tip line at (650) 997-8337 is available for those wishing anonymity.
