Mark your calendars for a treasure hunt in Marietta this August. The Marietta History Center has announced its Annual Rummage and Book Sale, taking over the center for a three-day bargain blitz from Thursday, August 14th. Locals can sift through a diverse collection of items, from books to vintage finds, all while supporting the preservation of more than 50,000 artifacts at the center. The doors open at 10 AM at the heart of Marietta, promising a community event that's part shopping spree, part history lesson.
The event lineup spans from August 14th through the 16th, with each day offering ample opportunity to not just to casually browse, but to also seriously uncover some gems among the tables and shelves. In a statement obtained by the Marietta History Center, visitors can look forward to an assortment of militaria, toys, home décor, and "much more." They are determined to ensure that there's a find for everyone who walks in, with everything priced to sell.
Event details publicized by the city's official site present an accessible outing for the community: free entry to the sale, regular museum admission on Thursday and Friday, and a special free admission day to the museum itself on Saturday. From 10 AM to 4 PM each day, the venue at 1 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060, will become a hub for local history enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike.
All proceeds from the sale are set to benefit an essential cause – the care and curation of the Marietta History Center's extensive collection. Each purchase will directly contribute to the center's mission to connect people with Marietta's past through "compelling stories and engaging experiences."
