The City of Dunwoody is set to enhance its community with a significant software upgrade. Starting on August 4, the city's Community Development operations will shift to a new software platform, CentralSquare, improving service delivery and online accessibility for residents, contractors, and businesses.
As reported by the City of Dunwoody's official announcement, this upgrade will replace the existing iWorQ system. To pave the way for the transition, services related to permits, inspections, and code enforcement will be put on hold as iWorQ will be deactivated after 5 p.m. on July 29. Community members are urged to submit necessary paperwork and arrange inspections before this deadline, as no new permit applications or code enforcement complaints can be accepted from July 30 to August 4. During this period, the Community Development will be closed to the public to allow staff to finalize the software changeover.
Once the transition to CentralSquare is complete, users can access the new system through the City's website for submitting new permit applications and code complaints. "If you have an existing application or complaint, please contact Community Development staff to ensure your information is transferred correctly," the city advises. For permits, inquiries can be sent via email to [email protected] or over the phone at 678-382-6821. Similarly, scheduling inspections can be processed using the same contact details.
The software upgrade also promises benefits for Finance operations, particularly in the realms of business and alcohol licensing. The transition, expected to be seamless for the public, will introduce new online capabilities to submit documents and make payments electronically, eliminating the need to physically visit the City Hall. "The new platform will expand online capabilities, allowing applicants to submit documents and pay fees electronically—no need to visit City Hall in person," the City of Dunwoody noted.
However, the Dunwoody community should be aware that the upgrade will impact Open Records Requests related to permits and code enforcement reports. While delays are expected, the city will communicate directly with each requestor to inform them of the specific timeline. All aspects of the software transition to CentralSquare should be finalized by mid-September.
