The resurfacing work, which will include new pavement markings, is now set to commence next Monday, August 4, after a slight schedule adjustment. The work, originally scheduled for yesterday and today, has been rescheduled to August 4 and 5, according to an announcement by the City of Fort Lauderdale.
The area detailed for the project spans from W./E. Broward Boulevard to NW/NE 1st Street, in the burgeoning sector of Flagler Village. Managed in conjunction with FG Construction, the roadwork is expected to extend over two nights, wrapping up by Wednesday, August 6. Operating hours for the job will run from 8 p.m. through to the small hours at 6 a.m., offering a reprieve to daytime commuters.
During this brief tenure of construction, N. Andrews Avenue will be fully closed overnight on the specified dates. For those caught weaving through the city's veins at these times, detours will reroute southbound traffic to NW 1st Avenue, while northbound vehicles will be diverted onto NE 3rd Avenue. Pedestrians can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that sidewalks will remain accessible throughout the duration of the improvements.
