This initiative, named Envision Gaston, invites the community to play a direct role in informing its strategies.
An online survey and an interactive map have been launched on Gaston Coutny's website, allowing residents to pinpoint their concerns and aspirations. For those preferring face-to-face conversations, Gaston County has scheduled three workshops for early August. Whether behind a screen or in the room, all are urged to take that opportunity to redirect the county's trajectory.
"Our community's input is vital for Gaston's future," Jamie Kanburoglu, Director of Planning and Zoning for Gaston County, told Gaston County. This sentiment reflects a commitment to ensuring that those who inhabit, labor, or simply enjoy Gaston County can contribute to its evolution. The aim is to synthesize these myriad perspectives into a cohesive and actionable guide.
The workshops, slated to take place at Gaston County Library and CityWorks, are essentially identical, providing multiple opportunities to engage. The issues up for discussion range widely, touching the nerves of transportation, infrastructure, and public services, as well as the veins of recreation and natural resources. The process is an exercise in democratic planning, extending through Spring 2026, bounded by the anticipation of a summertime completion next year.
