A shooting in Miami's Overtown neighborhood left a man in critical condition early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Northwest 1st Place and 11th Terrace, where emergency responders located the victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds, a report from CBS News Miami reveals.
He was quickly transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Officers secured the scene, with blood visible on the sidewalk and a lone hat left behind amid the aftermath. Investigators continued working at the site, gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Adding to the details, Local 10 reports that the shooting occurred slightly earlier at approximately 5:25 p.m. according to Officer Michael Vega, a spokesman for the Miami Police Department Vega also stated that Miami fire rescue were quick to the scene, and they facilitated the victim’s prompt transfer to the hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
