
Early Friday morning, a man was critically injured following a shooting in Nashville’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Perkins Street and Lafayette Street, WSMV reports. A 56-year-old man was shot in the neck; however, his injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
According to WKRN, the victim managed to get to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via private vehicle. Witnesses indicated that the victim and the shooter might know each other, though it is suggested that the victim may not have been the intended target.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is still piecing together details of the shooting, as they have yet to speak with the victim about the events leading to his injury. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and there is a lack of available witnesses, FOX 17 notes.
Law enforcement's search for answers continues, with MNPD urging anyone with information to come forward, while the area remains under investigation.
