The Chicago Sun-Times reports that authorities were alerted to the blaze around 1 a.m. in a building located at the 300 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue. Despite the efforts made, an unnamed man, believed to be around 50 years old, succumbed to his injuries and was confirmed dead at Stroger Hospital.
