A man was shot during a large, unauthorized pool party at the Cameron Crossing Apartments in LaGrange last Saturday night. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the LaGrange Police Department received reports of the incident and arrived on the scene at approximately 9:46 p.m. to find a chaotic gathering around the complex's pool area.
The victim, identified as Jamarious Brooks, was found with a gunshot wound and was given emergency medical attention by officers before being transported to a hospital in the Atlanta area. It was discovered by the investigators that the partygoers were trespassing, as the party had not been sanctioned by the property management, 11Alive reports.
As of now, the condition of Brooks remains undisclosed. The case has been escalated to the Criminal Investigations Division at the LaGrange Police Department, which is actively looking for the shooter, as no suspects have been named yet in this ongoing investigation.
"The LaGrange Police Department is urging anyone who may have information related to this case to contact Detective Horseman at 706-883-2620. Tips may also be submitted anonymously via the Tip411 system by using the mobile app, accessing the online portal, or texting the keyword **LAGRANGE** to 847411," stated the police department, concerned for the attendees, who some were trespassing, and alerting them of the proper channels to provide tips, as reported by 11Alive.
