A situation escalated at Miami International Airport over the weekend when 22-year-old Jose Francisco Camacho-Martin claimed to have a bomb in his luggage, this act led to his arrest, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, deputies responded after an Avianca Airlines customer support representative reported the threat following routine inquiry, the representative relayed to deputies that Camacho-Martin mentioned the bomb along with some clothes in his bag, then said he was jesting; however, deputies took no chances with the statement, they searched his belongings and found no threat.
As NBC Miami reported, Camacho-Martin, a Venezuelan who stated he lived in the U.S. for three years and was planning on returning to his country, was taken to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office station for questioning, it was also revealed during the investigation that there was an active bench warrant for Camacho-Martin; consequently, he was apprehended and taken to the Turner Guildford Knight Correctional Center.
The charge against Camacho-Martin was recorded as "BOMB/ ARSON/ ATT/ FALSE REPORT AGAINST STATE PROPE," with the bond for this offense set at $2,500, his details including date of birth, physical description and the actual mugshot from his arrest were also made public, according to mugshots.zone.
