Ryan Thomas Pearl, a prominent Miami hair stylist known for his work with celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Halsey, faces charges including an attempt to lure a child for sexual conduct. The 37-year-old stylist has additionally been charged with traveling to meet a child, electronic transmission harmful to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a child, and cocaine possession, according to NBC Miami.
The allegations came to light after the mother of a 15-year-old girl, a client of Pearl, reported suspicious transactions on her daughter's Apple Wallet and inappropriate social media exchanges to the police last Saturday, July 26. Detectives, taking over the teen's phone communications, discovered explicit images and conversations. Pearl, fully aware of communicating with a minor, sent photos and messages with sexual content to the undercover officers, now in place as the girl.
During the arrest operation, Miami Police discovered a bag containing suspected pink cocaine, condoms, and vapes in Pearl's car when he arrived at a pre-arranged location to meet the teen. In a statement obtained by CBS Miami, one of the messages Pearl allegedly sent to the detective posing as the teen included a nude photo and a caption with sexually suggestive content.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Pearl's career, prior to the arrest, was marked by impressive collaborations with top names in the fashion and entertainment industry. His work took him between Miami and New York City where he styled numerous celebrities and served as an artistic ambassador for Redken. The recent collaboration with Hailey Bieber was highlighted by Hair.com, just earlier this month. However, he now faces serious legal repercussions following his charges, with future court dates pending and investigations ongoing.
