In a move to bolster security along the waterways of Miami-Dade County's District 4, Commissioner Micky Steinberg, alongside Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, is scheduled to present a new maritime enforcement vessel today. According to an official statement from Miami-Dade County, the commissioner has facilitated the acquisition of the patrol boat with a $360,000 allocation, emphasizing the commitment to the safety of the intracoastal community's residents, families, and visitors.
The unveiling event, which is open to the public, will take place at Bill Bird Marina within Haulover Park, an area known for its recreational boating and scenic waterfront. The new marine boat represents an essential asset for patrolling the district, where water-bound activities are a way of life, and thus, maintaining a secure environment in these areas is of significant importance for community members and local authorities alike. The boat will be instrumental in addressing issues ranging from speeding to maritime emergencies.
"This is a win for public safety, a win for our waterways, a win for District 4 and Miami Dade County," Commissioner Steinberg stated, as noted by the county's official website. The ceremony is set to take place today at 9 a.m., highlighting the commission’s continued efforts to protect the district’s precincts on both land and water.
