A 63-year-old woman, Belinda Talley, involved in a car crash in Murfreesboro on Friday, succumbed to her injuries the following Monday, as confirmed by the Murfreesboro Police Department. The accident, which occurred on South Rutherford Boulevard, resulted in her Nissan Altima colliding with a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 17-year-old male, WSMV reported.
Initial reports indicate that Talley was attempting a left turn onto the boulevard when the crash happened. The WKRN states, the police claim she failed to yield the right of way, causing an impact that sent the pickup truck veering into oncoming traffic, subsequently striking a tree and a parked car at an apartment complex. This sequence of events is still being investigated by the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT).
Talley was trapped inside her vehicle due to the severe impact and had to be extricated by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department before being airlifted to the hospital, as noted by Rutherford Source. Despite efforts to save her, she passed away from her injuries two days after the accident on July 21.
