A fatal traffic collision in Murfreesboro has claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman, a week after the accident took place on South Rutherford Boulevard. The Murfreesboro TN Police Department reported that Belinda Talley succumbed to her injuries on Monday, following the crash that occurred last Friday.

According to the police department's social media post, Talley was driving a Nissan Altima and was trying to make a left turn when the collision with a Dodge Ram 1500 occurred. The driver of the other vehicle was a 17-year-old male, who, also sustained injuries from the crash, but were non-life-threatening. Preliminary investigations suggest that Talley failed to yield the right of way leading to the tragic event.

The impact was severe enough to trap Talley in her car, necessitating emergency responders to extricate her. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department personnel worked to free Talley, before she was airlifted to a hospital. Meanwhile, the teenager was transported to the hospital by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.

The aftermath of the crash was chaotic; with the teen's pickup truck being forced off course into incoming traffic, it eventually struck a tree and a parked car at a nearby apartment complex, thankfully unoccupied. The Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is continuing their investigation into the specifics of the incident, which has now resulted in a fatality.
