
A tragic incident occurred in Nashville, where a 73-year-old man lost his life after a fall led to him being struck by a vehicle. Reports from WSMV indicate that the man was walking along the sidewalk of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 5:40 p.m. when he stumbled near the intersection with 10th Avenue North and fell into the road. According to FOX17, at around the same time, a Lexus SUV operated by a 40-year-old man was making a right turn and collided with the pedestrian.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene as the elderly victim was quickly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, yet despite the rapid response, the man succumbed to his injuries, and his death was later confirmed, WSMV reports shed light on the heartbreaking sequence of events leading to the man's untimely demise while he was taken to the very hospital where his fight for life came to an end. The Metro Nashville Police Department is pursuing efforts to relay this grievous news to the man's family as they reel from the weight of such a sudden loss, according to WKRN.
While the Metro Nashville Police Department continues with its investigation, it is still working to contact the victim's next of kin.
