
A 61-year-old man from Nashville, suspected in a series of thefts across Middle Tennessee, was arrested following a theft at a Mt. Juliet Walmart. The suspect was caught after officers quickly responded to reports of the crime, preventing his escape by blocking his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, as reported by WSMV.
Running a tally believed to exceed $5,000 in stolen goods from various Walmart stores, the Nashville man was apprehended with over $500 worth of items concealed in a large tote. Discovered in possession of crack cocaine, the arrest was not just a matter of retail theft. According to WKRN, further investigation connected the suspect to 15 other thefts.
This latest arrest underscores the effectiveness of rapid police intervention. "This repeat offender won’t be continuing his crimes in our community," as stated by the Mt. Juliet Police.
