A Nashville man has died following a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Pleasant Hill Road. According to the Nashville Department of Police, 42-year-old Matthew Sparks was driving a Jeep Renegade southbound when the vehicle failed to navigate a curve, crossed the double yellow lines, entered the opposite lane, and left the roadway before striking a tree in a wooded area.
Emergency responders transported Sparks to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Preliminary findings indicate no signs of impairment at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
