In a continuation of a tragedy that unfolded over the weekend, Nashville authorities have apprehended Adarian Graham, a 16-year-old associated with the fatal shooting of Janiyah Batey, age 19, which occurred at Buffalo Trail Apartments. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Graham has been charged with criminal homicide and is currently held in juvenile detention awaiting a hearing.
The tragic incident, which took place on June 30 at 3711 Dickerson Pike, also resulted in the arrest of another teen, Martavious Luster, who was charged with criminal homicide on the day of the shooting. The investigation into the case reveals a harrowing narrative of attempted robbery, with Graham, Luster, Demario Anderson, another 16-year-old, and an unidentified fourth suspect allegedly embroiled in the events that led to a fatal exchange of gunfire, wherein both Batey and Anderson were killed.
Efforts by the police to resolve this case are ongoing as the search for the third and final suspect continues. The city's community has been left reeling from the level of violence involved, particularly as it concerns the involvement of teenagers.
