Change has come to the top ranks of the Salt Lake City Police Department as newly appointed Police Chief Brian Redd makes decisive moves, instating a new set of deputy chiefs. This leadership reshuffle comes just months after Chief Redd stepped into his role in March. Departing their positions are Deputy Chiefs Victor Siebeneck and Andrew Wright, as well as Brent Weisberg, as reported by FOX 13.
Stepping into these vacated shoes are Alex Garcia, Brandon Christiansen, and Bill Manzanares, who will each take on the mantle of Deputy Chief. Additionally, Glen Mills has been named the Communications Director, solidifying the new structure of Salt Lake City’s law enforcement leadership, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. While Manzanares assumes his position with immediacy, his peers will follow by late July or early August.
Chief Redd spoke on the recently appointed deputies’ potential influence on the department. "I'm confident their contributions will strengthen our ability to serve and support both our personnel and the community," he wrote, as mentioned by KUTV. The exit of the former deputy chiefs and aide is marked with gratitude, as Redd commended their "significant" service, leadership, and dedication.
