The evening will likely bring mostly clear conditions with temperatures dipping to a low of around 77 degrees.
Looking ahead tomorrow, there's an 80 percent chance of preciptiation, including possible showers before 10 a.m., then scattered showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. before more consistent rainfall arrives in the afternoon. "New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms," the NWS report states. The pattern of warm temperatures and late-day showers continues through the week with Thursday's forecast almost mirroring tomorrow's, with showers possibly erupting into thunderstorms and highs hovering around 90.
The NWS anticipates the intermittent showers will prolong into the weekend with the likelihood of thunderstorms mainly occurring after 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. However, the skies are expected to remain mostly sunny, and the highs could soar near 92 degrees, bringing a mix of heat and humidity as calm winds persist across the area. Nights throughout the week will generally be marked by partly cloudy skies and lows remaining consistently in the high 70s.
Sunday's environment follows the established pattern with sun dominating the early hours, but showers and thunderstorms are deemed likely, as the high climbs up near 93 degrees. The following evening, the NWS predicts "mostly clear, with a low around 79." Monday's weather possibly retains the trend, coupling sunny conditions with a series of probable showers and thunderstorms and a high once again close to 93 degrees. Throughout the period, New Orleanians can expect south and southwest winds to gently blow at around 5 mph.
