An alternate route is suggested, directing drivers to use the Magazine Street entrance ramp to access US 90 Westbound. The City’s notice specifies that this ramp closure will not take place during eastbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) hours and will not overlap with any scheduled HOV closures. The scheduling is designed to avoid disruption during peak commuter times.
A statement from the City of New Orleans indicates that these closures are part of a scheduled maintenance series for the lighting system, which is now managed by the city after being transferred from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). The work involves maintenance of the bridge’s steel and wiring components.
The work is scheduled to continue until tomorrow, with increased impact expected due to a two-lane closure on US 90 Westbound over the Crescent City Connection Bridge from 4:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and anticipate longer travel times. Drivers are also encouraged to follow posted signage closely and consider alternative routes when possible to minimize delays. All scheduled work is subject to weather conditions and may be adjusted as necessary.
