A tragic incident on Gallatin Pike North has claimed the life of a young motorcyclist, Daniel Poole, 19, from Orlinda, Tennessee. The crash, occurring at about 7:50 a.m. on Thursday, involved Poole's motorcycle and three other vehicles, according to a report from the Nashville website.
Poole was southbound on his Harley-Davidson when Tuyen Ta, 55, of Goodlettsville, driving a Honda Accord, sideswiped him while exiting a parking lot. The collision sent Poole sliding into oncoming traffic, where, tragically, he was struck by two additional vehicles. Ta reported that he was trying to cross the street to reach Pep Boys, located directly across, at the time of the accident.
Emergency services transported Poole to Skyline Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The involved drivers showed no signs of impairment at the crash scene, per the police statement. The inquiry points to Ta's failure to yield as the contributing factor to the fatal incident.
