Stefanie Cohen Magarici, widely known as Stefi Cohen, has found herself in a legal bind once again. The 33-year-old powerlifting influencer was arrested last week on domestic violence battery charges in Miami, according to TMZ. The specifics that led to the arrest remain undisclosed, and the Miami-Dade Police Department has not released further details on the case. Cohen's latest run-in with the law occurred just over a year after she allegedly gained unauthorized access to her ex-boyfriend's laptop, leading to a scandal involving leaked nude photos of his new partner, as reported by the New York Post.
Cohen was no stranger to scandal after an incident last year where she was accused of having illegally accessed her ex's iCloud and disseminated private images to "expose and humiliate" his new girlfriend, as stated by the victim in reports. Following what must have been an intense personal grudge, Cohen was arrested last May at her Coconut Grove home, according to NBC 6 Miami. Increased scrutiny has hovered over Cohen, with her history of resisting arrest during the previous incident, which included a notably physical confrontation with arresting officers, as detailed by WFLA News.
Before these incidents, Cohen was better known for her impressive feats in powerlifting. A 25-time world record holder, she has dominated the 123-pound weight class in squat, total, and deadlift categories. Cohen has also made a name for herself in the boxing ring, boasting a 4-1-1 record. Her last victory was a unanimous decision over Elsi Cervantes in June 2023, as per Men's Health. Despite her athletic achievements, Cohen's legal troubles have substantially marred her public image, as noted by the New York Post.
After her previous arrest, Cohen was required to post a bond and was ordered to stay away from her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, as per the conditions set during her hearing.
