A man has been taken into custody by San Diego Police in connection with the disappearance and murder of his ex-girlfriend, who had been reported missing under circumstances rife with suspicion. On July 15, San Diego law enforcement responded to a call about a missing 33-year-old Hispanic woman. The woman, initially the subject of a missing persons report, is now believed to be a victim of homicide, according to an announcement made by the San Diego Police Department.
As the case progressed from a missing person to a homicide investigation, detectives were gradually able to piece together evidence that indicated the victim's former partner, 48-year-old Eduardo Magana, may have played a role in her disappearance. Officials disclosed that efforts to find Eduardo Magana led them to La Puente, where he resided. Magana was subsequently detained and then arrested on murder charges after being pulled over in the City of Southgate during a seemingly routine traffic stop.
The police's suspicions were elevated to solid leads during the intensive investigation. "Detectives gathered facts that led them to believe the victim was deceased," the San Diego Police Department explained. Following this grim revelation, the SDPD’s Homicide Unit took charge of the inquiry. Further detective work later honed in on Eduardo Magana as a suspect in the alleged murder.
Once apprehended, Magana was taken into San Diego County Jail, facing charges under 187(a) PC – murder. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the tragic incident and reaching out to the public for further information.
