According to a social media post from the San Diego Police Department, an officer identified the suspect, who was already wanted in connection with multiple cases of sexual assault of men in the Hillcrest area.
The Special Events Team's swift response facilitated the suspect's apprehension. He was described as a violent sexual predator, taken into custody, and after confirmation of his identity, handed over to the Sex Crimes detectives for questioning. This man has been charged with kidnapping to commit rape, sodomy of an intoxicated victim, and sodomy by force—serious crimes that underline the gravity of this case.
Details of the arrest were not disclosed beyond what appeared in the San Diego Police Department's official statement. The police stressed the importance of their proactive steps, potentially saving other community members from harm. "The man was quickly taken to be interviewed by our Sex Crimes detectives and then booked into jail," the department stated on their Facebook page.
