Last Tuesday, a chilling crime shook the community of San Marcos when Adolfo Brito, aged 41, reportedly committed a burglary and sexual assault on the 1400 block of Grand Avenue. Details from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reveal that Brito forcibly entered the residence of a female victim, threatening her with a box cutter and compounding the theft by compelling her to remove her jewelry. He then proceeded to assault her after she was forced to undress sexually.
The incident escalated to a fear-stricken confrontation, but the victim managed to fend off Brito's advances, which prompted him to flee, setting a manhunt into motion that would terminate in Vista. Yesterday, the Fugitive Task Force, pivotal in their pursuit, apprehended Brito in the 1300 block of Park Center Drive, as confirmed by the Sheriff's Department. Arrest charges included robbery, burglary, assault with intent to commit a felony, assault with a deadly weapon, and grand theft, decisions that are leading Brito to the San Diego Central Jail, where he will face the courts for his actions.
