According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago police discovered the victim around 12:20 a.m. in the 800 block of North Cambridge Avenue after responding to a call.
The man was quickly transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooting comes as a cruel and ominous echo of a similar incident which occurred on that very stretch of pavement a mere seven days earlier, said the responding officers, who found the victim on the ground outside with fatal injuries.
