The Salt Lake City Police Department has activated a Silver Alert to aid in swiftly locating missing 74-year-old Brian Robertson. Robertson, who suffers from dementia, was last spotted on the evening before the announcement, around 7:30 PM, near his home located at 100 South 500 East. The official social media post from the Salt Lake City Police Department details that Brian may seem confused or disoriented, a common symptom for individuals suffering from dementia.
Police describe Brian Robertson as a white male, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 125 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. When last observed, he was dressed in a blue and white flannel shirt with blue pants. He is believed to have been on foot when he disappeared. In attempts to quickly gather any information on his whereabouts, authorities are urging anyone who might have seen Brian or knows of his current location to immediately call 9-1-1. "If you see Brian or have any information on his location, please call 9-1-1 immediately," the Salt Lake City Police Department implored in their urgent call to the public.
The institution of a Silver Alert is a critical measure, designed to efficiently disseminate information regarding missing persons, particularly the elderly with conditions that may impede their safety and well-being. The community is thus essential in this collaborative effort to ensure that Brian is returned to his family safely and without delay. The increased visibility and attention that the Silver Alert brings are often crucial elements in the resolution of such cases.
