Three teenage girls were injured in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago when they were struck by a vehicle on Sunday evening, according to reports from NBC Chicago and Chicago Sun-Times. The incident occurred around 7:38 p.m. along West Jackson Avenue near Cicero Boulevard. The driver, a 40-year-old male operating a white SUV, was traveling westbound before turning southbound, whereupon he collided with the teens, who were crossing in a crosswalk.
As per NBC Chicago, the victims, ages 13, 15, and 16, were transported to an area hospital with reports stating they were in fair condition. The Chicago Sun-Times noted that the same teens were taken to Stroger Hospital following the accident.
