
A tragic turn of events unfolded in the Oak Park neighborhood of San Diego, where a domestic violence incident resulted in two fatalities. In a press release distributed by the San Diego Police Department, officials reported that a woman was killed during a shooting, and a man was also found deceased at the scene.
Yesterday at around 9:47 AM, authorities received a distress call from 5516 Timothy Drive; responding San Diego Police officers found a woman, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, and they attempted to provide aid, but they soon discovered a man in another room who had sustained a gunshot wound to his head, he was pronounced dead at the scene. After San Diego Fire and Rescue arrived, they took over the efforts to save the woman, who was also later pronounced dead at the location.
The victims, both described as Black and in their 50s, have had their identities kept confidential pending notification of their families. Homicide investigators are currently overseeing the investigation into the specifics of the case, which, as it stands, is believed to be a murder/suicide. The press release emphasized that there appears to be no ongoing threat to the community following this ordeal.
