
Utah's volleyball sensation, Kamryn Gibadlo, has caught the eyes of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and has landed herself on the elite preseason watch list for the Division I Player of the Year Award, sponsored by Nike Volleyball. The junior standout is among a prestigious group of 30 players selected for this national recognition.
Her coach, Beth Launiere, expressed both pride and excitement over Gibadlo's noteworthy achievement. "What a tremendous honor for Kamryn to be recognized as one of the Top 30 players in the country," she said, as per UtahUtes.com. Launiere looks forward to seeing her lead and excel in the upcoming season. Gibadlo's early career boasts impressive stats. In her first year, she finished with 284 kills and 2.61 kills per set, earning a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team.
Her performance only escalated during her sophomore year, leading her team with 370 kills, 3.43 kills per set, and notching 38 service aces, which contributed to Utah's 19th NCAA Tournament appearance. Gibadlo's prowess on the court secured her multiple accolades, including the All-Big 12 first team and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Gibadlo spent her summer with the USA Volleyball U21 National Team, striving for gold at the 2025 NORCECA Pan America Cup. This experience is bound to fortify her skills, benefitting both her and the Utah team in the fiercely competitive season ahead.
With the season opener just around the corner, anticipation builds as the Utes are set to face the Texas Longhorns next month.
