In the early morning hours of Sunday, a hit and run on NW Dairy Creek Road left a female cyclist severely injured and alone for hours, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived at the scene at 7:17 a.m., responding to a call from passersby who discovered the injured woman. The unidentified driver fled after the crash.
Found outside overnight, the victim sustained serious injuries, including harm to her legs and face. Upon discovery, she was promptly transported to a local trauma center. The same morning presented another distressing scene, with a second incident occurring at the intersection of NW Old Cornelius Pass Road and NW Cornelius Pass Road, at around 10:56 a.m. Witnesses reported a male bicyclist abruptly crossing into a vehicle's path. The driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, hit the southward-traveling cyclist. Deputies, as they arrived soon after the crash, noted that the bicyclist was seriously injured and needed immediate medical attention.
As officials work to determine the causes behind these tragic events, the identity of the male cyclist involved in the second accident remains unknown.
