For motorists planning to navigate the Westbound lanes of I-10 at Exit 76 for LA 91, it's time to tune in to some schedule changes. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced a series of ramp closures to allow for milling and paving operations on the Entrance and Exit Ramps at this location. Originally slated for a closure on Tuesday evening, the July 15 schedule has been canceled and instead, the work will begin on July 16.

The closures will take place intermittently, starting from July 16 at 7:00 p.m. and will continue until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting. The series is set to repeat each evening until July 19, with an extended closure until 9:00 a.m. After a break over the weekend, the activity picks up once again on July 21, with a time change noted, to currently finish today, July 23.

According to the DOTD announcement, there is a clear path for those affected. Drivers planning to get onto I-10 Westbound from LA 91 will need to follow detours, which include heading west to Exit 72 – Trumps Road (Egan), then south on Trumps to take the Eastbound ramp back to Exit 76. Those on LA 91 attempting to go Westbound on I-10 should instead go East to Exit 80 for LA 13 (Eunice, Crowley), turn north, and then jump back onto the Westbound lanes.

Worth noting for those who operate larger vehicles, there will be no vehicle width restrictions throughout the period of work. However, emergency vehicles will not be able to access the ramps at Exit 76 during closure times. Detour signs are expected to be posted to clearly mark the adjusted routes, so drivers should be on the look out and prepare to follow the suggested paths.
