Three people were treated after a fire broke out at a high-rise condo in North Miami Beach on Friday evening. According to NBC Miami, the fire started in a unit on the sixth floor of a 10-story building at Northeast 166th Street and 35th Avenue. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived around 6:45 p.m. and extinguished the flames before they spread to other units.

The building was fully evacuated. Resident Dolly Cortones told Local 10 she alerted neighbors by knocking on doors after seeing debris fall onto her balcony. Another resident, Yulia Rydler, evacuated quickly and later learned her cats, left behind during the escape, were unharmed.

Officials said three people were treated on-site and released. Firefighters stayed to clear smoke from the building. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
