The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) has issued an urgent statewide alert for an 11-year-old boy named Christopher Brayton, who has reportedly vanished with his father, also named Christopher Brayton, from Redmond, Oregon. The boy is believed to potentially be in danger, prompting the authorities to ask the public to stay vigilant and report any sightings. According to a KATU News report, the two were last seen traveling in a maroon Toyota pickup truck with Oregon license plate 335 NEC.
Officials have reason to believe the pair may be heading towards Disneyland, although details on why they might be traveling there, or why the child could be at risk were not specifically disclosed. In a statement obtained by KTVZ News, the Oregon DHS expressed their intent to fully assess the safety of the young Christopher Brayton after his disappearance was reported on Monday. Appealing for the public's help indicates the level of concern surrounding the boy's welfare.
The missing child, Christopher, is described as about 5-foot 8-inches tall and weighing 184 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. This description has been widely circulated in media outlets in an effort to aid in his identification by members of the public. Central Oregon Daily reports that although a photo of the father has been released, no further details describing him have been provided by ODHS.
If you have any information that could assist in safely locating Christopher Brayton and his father, you are urged to immediately contact law enforcement by calling 911. Alternatively, the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline at 1-855-503-SAFE (7233) is available for tips and reports concerning the boy's whereabouts. The welfare of the child remains the top priority, and authorities are determined to swiftly ensure he is found and brought to safety.
