The Chicago Police Department has issued an alert to the residents and businesses of Brighton Park, Bucktown, and Jefferson Park, following a series of armed robberies and attempted heists. According to the bulletin, these crimes occurred within the 009th (Deering), 014th (Shakespeare), and 016th (Jefferson Park) Districts—areas that are now blanketed with heightened vigilance. The alert, which was disseminated on the Chicago Police Department's official website, details the incidents and offers a description of the suspect involved in this crime spree.
The string of incidents began on August 9, 2025, at a business located on the 3900 block of South Archer Ave, and continued with two more attempted armed robberies on August 19, 2025, both occurring a mere hours apart. The first of that day took place on the 6000 block of West Higgins Ave and the latter on the 2000 block of North Damen Ave. In each encounter, a male suspect described as White Hispanic, aged between 20-30 years old, and with an average height and build, confronted employees at gunpoint demanding money. He was partially successful, achieving his nefarious objective in one instance while fleeing empty-handed from the others.
As detailed by the Chicago Police, the suspect has been seen wearing a particular attire that includes a beige baseball cap, a hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants, and black gym shoes. The public is urged to take note of any distinctive features such as scars, tattoos, or mannerisms that may help identify the assailant. The police advise against pursuit or resistance during such encounters, instead placing paramount importance on safety and immediate reporting of any relevant information to law enforcement.
