Taking the stage to commence the summit will be president Preckwinkle along with John Roberson, Executive Vice President of the Obama Foundation. Both are scheduled to deliver opening remarks directed at underscoring the importance of public service and community empowerment. According to the Cook County news release, Preckwinkle stated, “The Pathways Summit is about opening doors and building bridges between Cook County government and the communities we serve.”
The event is a collaborative effort brought together by the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer and roughly 90 other departments and agencies. It promises an interactive agenda, including a variety of vendors, workshops, and practical sessions all designed to equip attendees with essential tools and knowledge for elevating their businesses and community presence.
Opportunities for direct engagement with numerous Cook County departments, acquisition of best practices, and accessing pivotal resources will be a highlight of the summit. These activities are reflective of the County’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development as underscored in President Preckwinkle’s vision for the county’s future engagement. All residents, business owners, community leaders, professionals, and aspiring public servants are encouraged to be in attendance.
