Residents who frequent the Bamford Sports Complex for their hoops fix or a place to park will need to adjust their playbook starting next week. Announced on the Town of Davie's official website, the north parking lot and basketball courts at Pine Island Park, situated at 3801 South Pine Island Road, will be off-limits from Tuesday, September 2, due to the construction of two new artificial turf fields.
The renovation, set to enhance the facilities, is expected to wrap up by Friday, October 3, which is when ballers can return to their beloved courts; until then, alternatives are Reflections Park, Wes Griffin Park, and Betty Booth Roberts Park, all of which will remain open from 9 a.m. until the sun dips below the horizon. For those who prefer the night, options include Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford, and Waverly Park, staying open until 9 p.m., whilst Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex pushes the curfew to 10 p.m.
The Town advises a quick check on their website or social media for any updates before heading out. They've made it clear an apology is in order for any inconvenience caused to parkgoers and have provided a hotline direct to the Davie Park Rangers at 954-275-8504, for any additional park-related queries.
