A fatal incident disrupted the early morning calm of a North Miami Beach neighborhood when a multi-vehicle crash claimed at least one life and led to power outages for local residents. The collision occurred near Northeast 16th Avenue and Northeast 152nd Street, rendering one vehicle almost unrecognizable in the extent of its destruction. In the aftermath, authorities draped a tarp over the body of an unidentified victim, as reported by NBC6.
The scene, which stretched roughly a block, featured a white car with considerable front-end damage on one side, while on the other, entangled vehicles lay near police cruisers. A lone tire was also seen on the sidewalk, hinting at the intensity of the incident. Morgan Rynor of CBS News Miami reported that drone footage from above the scene showed at least four vehicles believed to be involved in the accident.
In the wake of the chaos, approximately 150 households were left without electricity, according to information from Florida Power & Light. The link between the outages and the crash has not been established at this time. Streets remained closed off as the investigation by local authorities progressed, with no immediate clarity on the cause of the crash or if other individuals were injured.
As the inquiry into the tragic event continues, details regarding the identity of the victim or victims and the circumstances that led to the crash have yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, those affected by the power outage are looking to Florida Power & Light for restoration and information on how the incident may have impacted their service.
