
The Georgia Department of Corrections has appointed Delores Henderson as Deputy Warden of Administration at the Burruss Correctional Training Center (BCTC), according to Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. Henderson, who joined the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2018, previously served as Accounting Technician III at BCTC. She will now oversee the business office, property and supply operations, and food service departments at the facility, which houses about 800 medium-security male offenders.
According to Georgia Department of Corrections website, Henderson began her career with the State in 2011 as a Customer Service Representative at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. At Georgia Department of Corrections, she has held financial roles before her promotion to deputy warden.
Her training includes Executive Basic Correctional Officer Training, multiple Supervision and Management courses, and the Deputy Wardens Academy. She also completed the Professional Management Program at Columbus State University, earned the Georgia Certified Purchasing Associates credential, and took part in programs such as the Frontline Leadership Program and Command and General Staff for IMT’s.
Henderson has also completed coursework in governmental accounting and food service management.
