The City of Dunwoody is now operating its permitting, licensing, and code enforcement services through a new software system named CentralSquare, having moved on from the older system iWorQ. As of today, Dunwoody residents, as well as contractors and businesses, can access the CentralSquare system directly via the city's website to submit new applications or lodge code complaints. The city hopes this upgrade will improve service delivery and internal coordination while enhancing online accessibility. For those with ongoing applications or issues, they can reach out to Community Development at [email protected] or by calling 678-382-6821 to ensure their information is appropriately transferred to the new system.
To avoid service interruptions during the transition, which began today, iWorQ was deactivated after 5 p.m. last Tuesday. Consequently, all paperwork submissions and inspection scheduling were urged to be completed last Tuesday to avoid disruptions, as the Community Development office was closed to the public from last Wednesday, July 30, through yesterday. During this period, acceptance of new permit applications, code complaints, and inspection services was temporarily halted. Inspections can again be scheduled with the same contact information post-transition.
Those looking to keep up-to-date with code enforcement can now direct their queries to [email protected] or contact 678-382-6807. The transition to the CentralSquare system is part of a city-wide software update that also affects the Finance Department, particularly related to business and alcohol licensing. This step promises to be smooth, with the added convenience of online document submission and fee payment capabilities that eliminate the necessity for physical visits to City Hall.
The modernization effort additionally affects Open Records Requests linked to permits and code enforcement reports. Any delays will be directly communicated to individual requestors. According to the City of Dunwoody's announcement, all aspects of the transition to the CentralSquare platform are expected to be concluded by mid-September, setting the stage for a more streamlined and technologically adept municipal experience for all stakeholders involved.
