A fire erupted last night at Backyard Buildings, a shed yard located at Northwest Broad and Florence Road in Murfreesboro, causing several road closures due to the blaze. As reported by WSMV, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) responded to the site around 9:30 p.m. and were met with a large fire encompassing multiple wood sheds and piles of combustible materials.

During the firefighting efforts, several explosions were heard, complicating the situation. The specificity of the firefighting units involved, as mentioned by WKRN, included Engine 5, Engine 7, Ladder 4, Ladder 11, Rescue 4, and multiple chiefs and safety officers, among others. The fires and subsequent explosions heavily damaged various sheds, tow motors, and materials on the premises.

The Murfreesboro Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation to determine the cause of the incident, as noted in both the WSMV and WKRN articles. Meanwhile, officials have advised residents and commuters to seek alternative routes while the roads near the incident remain closed.

Despite the quick response and measures taken by the MFRD, several structures were not able to be saved from destruction. Officials have yet to report any injuries related to the incident; however, as the investigation proceeds, further details are expected to be disclosed.
