Early Wednesday, a Gallatin man with connections to the MS-13 gang was apprehended following a search warrant issued for his residence. Gallatin Police, assisted by the Sumner County Emergency Response Team, executed the warrant around 6 a.m., as reported by FOX17. Denzel Santana, the man in question, was detained and now faces a slew of drug and weapon charges.

The search uncovered a trove of illicit materials, including about 5 pounds of marijuana, a half-pound of mushrooms, 260 THC vapes, and 74 oxycodone pills. Law enforcement also seized two semi-automatic firearms, one of which is an AR-15 pistol, and $10,778 in cash, details Sumner County Source. Moreover, artwork featuring MS-13 imagery was retrieved from Santana's residence, manifesting devil and clown iconography and a masked man holding an assault weapon.

“This was an organized drug organization that was run through MS-13,” GPD Capt. Lamar Ballard commented in a statement obtained by WSMV. The arrest is said to be indicative of the broader MS-13 activity in the region, contributing to a long history of criminal undertakings by this international gang.

Santana is the son of Jaime "Smiley" Santana, a man once identified as the highest-ranking non-incarcerated MS-13 member in the United States. However, Jaime Santana is currently serving a sentence of more than nine years for racketeering conspiracy and drug trafficking. Santana's current bond has been set at $750,000, and as the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Gallatin Police Department, as per WSMV.
