A hiker's morning trek near Black's Beach took a perilous turn yesterday after they fell and sustained a potential hip fracture on the slippery, rugged terrain of Flat Rock. The incident, just after the sun crept above the horizon at approximately 7:30 a.m., prompted an urgent response from multiple first responder units.
According to a social media post by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, teams from San Diego Lifeguards, San Diego Fire-Rescue crews, paramedics, and California State Lifeguards swiftly converged on the scene to administer aid to the injured individual.
In what was described as a seamless display of inter-agency collaboration, the patient received initial treatment amidst the ocean's soundtrack before being hoisted away from the jagged embrace of the coastline by Copter 3. The agencies worked together to secure and transport the individual to safety, after which they were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
