
Early morning yesterday, a family in La Vergne escaped safely after a fire broke out in their home on Topview Trail. The City of La Vergne reported that firefighters were dispatched to 1014 Topview Trail at approximately 6:14 a.m.
The family of four evacuated before fire crews arrived and were not injured. Fire officials confirmed that one cat was rescued, while another remains missing. Six fire apparatus and two command staff responded, and the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.
The fire caused extensive damage to the home, leaving the family displaced. The La Vergne Police Department coordinated with the American Red Cross to provide emergency assistance and temporary housing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. City officials reminded residents about the importance of working smoke detectors and having a home fire escape plan. Updates on the case will be shared through the city’s official social media channels.
