La Vergne Police Department is turning to the public for help following an armed robbery reported on Interstate 24 West, an incident where two masked suspects robbed a driver at gunpoint after causing him to pull over. According to a social media post by the La Vergne Police Department, Det. Nokes is specifically seeking dashcam footage from motorists who were on the stretch between Sam Ridley Parkway and Waldron Road yesterday morning, August 26.

The suspects, who were in a black Toyota sedan with black plates, reportedly used a dangerous tactic known as brake-checking followed by throwing eggs onto the windshield of the victim's black Chevrolet Camaro, which obstructed his view and forced him to stop, this set-up led to the robbery on the interstate's right shoulder. The suspects were described as Black males wearing masks and gloves, and brandishing pistols, they then made their escape, heading west on I-24 toward Nashville.

Authorities are now piecing together the circumstances of the crime and are eager for any additional evidence that may have been captured by passing drivers. They encourage anyone with relevant footage or information to get in touch with the La Vergne Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau at 615-287-8667. Alternatively, those wishing to remain anonymous can contact the Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867).
