A man was found dead early Tuesday morning with multiple stab wounds in an Auburn Gresham apartment building, marking another grim episode in Chicago's ongoing struggle with violent crime. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago officers, who were responding to a well-being check around 2:30 a.m. on the 900 block of West 78th Street, discovered the man unresponsive upon arrival.
The victim had suffered extensive injuries. "Victim has a lot of cuts all over his neck and face and a knife inside of his chest in the heart area," an officer reported over the police scanner, indicating the severity of the attack. As per information provided by the authorities, the deceased was initially unidentified and referred to as a "John Doe." The suspect, linked to this fatal incident, is reported to have turned himself in at an Indiana casino, the officer told dispatch.
