A confrontation in a Walmart parking lot on Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce, escalated into gunfire on Friday night, leaving one man injured. The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) responded to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. following reports of the shooting.
According to CBS12, the initial investigation suggested an altercation involving three individuals, one of whom tried to punch another. This interaction led to the third party firing a weapon. The target of the attempted punch was hit in the foot and subsequently, he fled the scene on a bicycle. The shooter, however, stayed behind to cooperate with the police.
While the victim was located by the police and found to be suffering from a gunshot wound, he outright refused to press charges. Despite this, FPPD is continuing to investigate the incident and urges anyone with information to step forward.
